Best Covers of the Week, Vol. 195

 Black Science #31
by Matteo Scalera

I love that this series has stuck with the left white column for the entire series, and this is one of the times when it really pays off: it gives such a sense of depth and movement, and Scalera's designs and colors are just fantastic.

 Briggs Land: Lone Wolves #4
by Matthew Woodson

This one's got some excellent character work, but it's the level of detail on the small stuff–the wrinkles in her shirt, the buckle of the holster–that really caught my eye. Well done!

 KISS Vampirella #4
by Carli Ihde

This cover has a great concept to start with, and it's executed perfectly, down to the brown overtones. Such a fun one!

 Retcon #1
by Toby Cypress

There's a lot going on to dive into here; the nice character work on the central figure, the intricate red designs coming off his head, and the 'label' elements that cleverly include the Image logo. I dig it!

Spy Seal #2
by Rich Tommaso

Fantastic work from Tommaso here, from the gorgeous popping colors to the detail on the ground below, to the slanted white lines that accent the movement of the plane. I don't think this could possibly evoke Hergé any more, and I love it!

That's it for this week. What did I miss? Let us know on Twitter or Facebook!
