Hinterkind #17
by Marguerite Sauvage
The first of two Sauvage covers in this week's picks...she just puts together some of the most visually striking covers on the shelves. The bitter colors and exploding splashes really set this one apart.
Uncanny Avengers #3
by Daniel Acuña
Acuña has a way of making his images seem like windows into breathing, 3d worlds, and the colors and design here really recall 60's futurism in an awesome way.
The Dying & the Dead #2
by Ryan Bodenheim
Although Hickman's seeming obsession with the half white cover is wearing thin, the logo design and the careful, almost photorealistic image are pretty eye-catching.
Harley Quinn #16
by Dave Johnson
This might be my favorite of the movie poster variants yet. Johnson picked a great image that is able to capture the fun of the character, and the colors work perfectly too!
Hellboy and the BPRD 1952 #5
by Alex Maleev and Dave Stewart
Maleev has been a really good choice for Hellboy, and here he gives a lot of pathos in a style that's pretty different from what we usually see on Hellboy.
Lady Killer #4
by Joëlle Jones
The 60's looking wallpaper design is a really nice touch, and the cover drips with action–super stylish!
Wolf Moon #5
by Marguerite Sauvage
And we'll bookend with the other Sauvage piece! The creature is menacing, the pose feels dangerous, and the greenish shading gives an eerie feel to the whole thing.
That's it for this week. What did I miss? Let me know on Twitter or Facebook!
