Krysten Ritter is Jessica Jones, Ryan Reynolds is (Officially) Deadpool

Rounding out your casting news for the day, here are two new reports from Marvel Studios and FOX, respectively.

Marvel Studios has officially cast actress Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones for their Netflix series titled AKA Jessica Jones.  Ritter is most known for her roles in Veronica Mars and Breaking Bad.  It would appear AKA Jessica Jones will be Marvel's second Netflix series in 2015, with Daredevil starting this summer.  Marvel Studios is currently in the process of casting Luke Cage, Jones' husband and Power Man, who will appear in 7 of the series' thirteen episodes before spinning off into his own series.

Jessica Jones will center around a retired superhero opening up her own detective agency.

You wanted it....you got it.  That Deadpool movie, which had everyone on the Internet clamoring over its test footage this past summer, is finally happening.

FOX confirmed officially today that Ryan Reynolds will be starring as the Merc With A Mouth, reprising his role from X-men Origins: Wolverine.  Given the events of X-men: Days of Future Past as well as the generally negative response to the Wolverine film, do not expect this Deadpool movie to follow any previous continuity.

The movie will begin shooting in March, and will be directed by Tim Miller, with a script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.  Deadpool will be released February 12, 2016.
