We knew that Universal was aiming to relaunch their monster line with a set of interconnected movies ala Marvel studios (which interestingly enough, somewhat took a page from the Universal Monster films of the 1940's that did that very thing).
The critically derided Dracula Untold ended up being the first of this line-up, hosting a hastily added post-credit sequence that spoke to this world-building, and 2016 is the expected release year for their reboot of The Mummy.
Now we've learned that 2017 will likely host a relaunch of The Wolf Man, with a script written by Prisoners screenwriter Aaron Guzikowski.
I wasn't particularly fond of Prisoners, but I sure liked it a whole lot more than the 2010 Joe Johnston directed The Wolf Man that starred Benecio Del Toro. The latter was one of the only times I've ever found myself booing at the screen when the credits rolled.
If it's anything like Dracula Untold, count me out.
