Per Variety, it's now official, as MacLaren will join Zack Snyder and David Ayer as the team of directors that will be bringing DC's comic book stable to life on the big screen.
According to reports, MacLaren will also help develop the story with the still unannounced writing team.
Wonder Woman is expected to debut in 2017 and star Gal Gadot. It will follow Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and David Ayer's Suicide Squad.
MacLaren's hiring makes for the first time that a female director has been assigned a superhero property since Paddy Jenkins walked off the set of Thor: The Dark World, and is a major coup for the studio. Screenwriter and further cast announcements are likely imminent.
