Michelle MacLaren In Talks To Direct 'Wonder Woman'

According to Variety, Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones director Michelle MacLaren has emerged as the leading contender to direct Warner Bros' Wonder Woman, aimed for a 2017 release.

MacLaren has long been a favorite to helm the project, particularly given earlier reports that the studio was looking specifically for a female director to develop the big screen debut of the hero.

There are currently no plot details available regarding the film, particularly whether or not it will include origin elements given that the character will debut in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice directed by Zack Snyder.

MacLaren has made a huge name for herself this year with her tv work that was particularly praised for its cinematic quality and given the success Marvel had bringing on Anthony and Joe Russo from the television world onto Captain America: The Winter Soldier, MacLaren is an ideal candidate for the material.
