Per Deadline, Marvel is beginning to assemble its possible leads for the upcoming Netflix series Jessica Jones, which will follow on the heels of next year's Daredevil starring Charlie Cox. The series, headed up by Melissa Rosenberg, focuses on superhero suffering from post traumatic stress disorder.
Not only will this 13 episode drama introduce the title character, but it will also act as a spring-board for the Luke Cage series by providing a supporting role for Jones' paramour.
The actresses that Marvel is currently circling include:
Krysten Ritter, known for her work on Breaking Bad and Don't Trust The B---- In Apartment 23
Alexandra Daddario, of True Detective fame
Teresa Palmer, seen in movies like Warm Bodies and almost became Talia Al Ghul in the aborted Justice League: Mortal
Jessica De Gouw, from NBC's Dracula
For the role of Luke Cage, both Lance Gross (Crisis) and Mike Colter (The Good Wife) are in consideration as well. According to Deadline's report, Cage will appear in 6 or 7 episodes of Jessica Jones to establish his character prior to the airing of Luke Cage.
