Another stand-out performer from Inglorious Basterds has been cast as a villain in a tent-pole blockbuster. This time, its Daniel Bruhl, who was also the sole reason to see the Ron Howard film Rush.
According to Variety, Bruhl has been cast in a villainous role in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War. Who he's playing has not yet been revealed, but per the report, he will not be the main villain of the film and may instead reappear in Doctor Strange.
Before this information threw a slight wrench in things, Bruhl seemed like an obvious candidate for a revived Red Skull or Baron Zemo, the other big Captain America villain that has yet to appear in the films.
Bruhl will be joined by Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr. and Chadwick Boseman in the film, set for release on May 6, 2016.
