It's been a minute since we've talked about Game of Thrones, where we recently posed some questions as to what Season 5 might feature, particularly given its ever-growing cast.
Now we know a little more, as Entertainment Weekly is reporting that show-runners David Benioff and DB Weiss, when speaking to a group of film students in Spain, stated the following:
By making the first season, we set a rule: No prophecies, dreams or flashbacks. We failed the first two and this season the third. So yes, this season will finally have flashbacks.EW also relays that said flashback will be the opening scene of the season. Given that this season will adapt some of the events of the fourth and fifth books of the series, and the former (A Feast for Crows) contains flashbacks to the childhood of Cersei Lannister, this isn't really much of a surprise. It looks like we'll be meeting "Maggy the Frog" fairly early on.
The series will return to HBO this Spring.
