Dragon Con 2014: Lou Ferrigno Talks His Role In 'Avengers: Age Of Ultron'

At this year's Dragon Con in Atlanta, I had the awesome opportunity to attend a private press conference with guest Lou Ferrigno!  As can be expected, much of the conference dealt with Ferrigno discussing his legacy as a body builder as well as playing the Hulk in the 1978 television series with Bill Bixby.

What some may not know, however, is that Ferrigno provides the "voice" for the Hulk in all of Marvel Studios' films thus far.  Though Mark Ruffalo uttered the "puny god" line in The Avengers, Ferrigno was the man behind all the grunts and roars.

With that in mind, Ferrigno was asked if he has recorded his dialogue for the green rage monster for the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron, to which he responded that it will not be until the film moves further into post production before that happens.

When asked whether or not he has any context for his Hulk roars, Ferrigno told us:

"They just give me the dialogue.  They can't give me the storyline because they want to keep it under wraps.  I wish I could understand [what the story is]."

Ferrigno went on to say that recording those roars can be an exhausting process, saying:

"I lose my voice for a couple of days.  We record in a studio near my home and rock the basement for a couple of days."

Ferrigno went on to tell us that a solo Hulk movie was in the works, but we'll wait until a few more sources confirm that news before we get too hopeful.  Nevertheless, it was a thrilling opportunity to speak with the guy and get some brief insight into his role in the anticipated sequel.

Avengers: Age of Ultron opens May 1, 2015.
