Deadly Hands of Kung Fu #1
by Dave Johnson
Very nice design, and the cartooning work on the hands especially is really nice. Great color work too!
Green Lantern Corps #31
by Mike Allred
If you know me, this month's slew of Allred variants is going to be a fun one! This is one of my favorites in the bunch; it's a funny and clever tie to the Batman '66 series.
The Shadow #25
by Dean Motter
I love, love, love the deep blues in this cover and the art deco style shading on the building's architecture. The Shadow really blends in, and the contrast between the blacks and blues and the neon green almost makes you miss him!
Starlight #3
by Francesco Francavilla
Call me a sucker, but covers that imitate old pulp magazines and books are a sure fire way to get me interested, and Francavilla does them better than most. I love the label-maker type and the planet (or moon) acting as a halo.
Abe Sapien #12
by Sebastian Fiumara
This is a haunting one. The detail work on the house is nice, but it's the minimalist coloring on the bottom half that makes it so striking, as if the house is floating in the blood it's producing.
Captain Marvel #3
by David Lopez
Excellent design work with the upward angles and the subtle paint splatter background. This cover is on fire with upward energy!
Shutter #2
by Leila Del Duca
I really like that more books are taking the framing approach on their covers. This really feels like a photography magazine cover, and the in-the-frame work is colorful and enticing.
That's it for this week! What did I miss? Let me know on Twitter or Facebook!
