Best Covers of the Week, Vol. 19

Still teeter-tottering between which of the bazillion covers for Amazing Spider-Man #1 to spend your hard earned cash on? Look no further!

Silver Surfer #2
by Mike Allred

Allred's Silver Surfer flying around a gigantic cosmic woman while surrounded by dozens of planets? Say no more!

Deadly Class #4
by Wesley Craig

Craig's style on this book is so unique, and his colors are no small part of that. This is like their neon tribute to Fear and Loathing!

  Star Wars: Rebel Heist #1
by Adam Hughes

This is a licensed property cover done extremely well; it captures lots of slices of character and action, and the design elements feel contemporary but tied to the property in some way.

    The Amazing Spider-Man #1
by Marcos Martin

If there's one book you buy this week to collect a great cover, make it this one! I find most Spider-Man covers to be repetitive and boring, but the inverted perspective with the slight curve of the earth, the subdued coloring on the character contrasting with the eye-catching background colors, and the larger than life font design are all spectacular. A modern classic!

Disney Kingdom's Seekers of the Weird #1
by Michael Del

This is a series I would maybe not be interested in, but the cover is fantastic. I like the stances of the figures, but the waxy skull and smoky background are really wonderful horror design!

  The X-Files Season 10 #11
by Francesco Francavilla

I love that Francavilla can capture a likeness with just a small slice of their face, and how he can cram many elements into one cover in a way that still flows nicely.

Umbral #6
by Christopher Mitten

I like that they've stuck with the title design consistently, and the unique coloring and almost 3d perspective on her arm are done really well here too.

That's it for this week! What did I miss? Let me know on Twitter or Facebook!
