Hulk angry that he forgot to ask his LCBS to hold a copy of that awesome variant cover! HULK SMASH MARKED UP VARIANTS!
Birds of Prey #30
by Jorge Molina
I always loved the new costume designs in this book, but lately Molina's been killing it on these covers. The frame is gorgeous and eye-catching, and the facial acting is superb. Creepy!
Wonder Woman #30
by Cliff Chiang
I really love the way Chiang is playing with the colors here, and how he makes pink and purple feel so powerful and violent. A really nice blend of cel-shading and more defined linework.
The Shadow #24
by Dean Motter
Motter does some of the best urban noir stuff, and does a fantastic job with the retro architecture, not to mention the fairly subtle skull shape. Great grainy shading on the buildings too!
Solar: Man of the Atom #1
by Juan Doe
This one is colorfully striking, and has nice details with the background formulas and the crystalline structure in the midground.
The Mercenary Sea #3
by Mathew Reynolds
These covers continue to all be ones I would gladly buy as prints or posters. The sense of depth and design is phenomenal!
Batwoman #30
by Rafael Albuquerque
Albuquerque does great horror covers, and this one is pretty terrifying. The facial expression on Batwoman is really well done, and I like the ethereal nature of the ghosts.
Genesis (one-shot)
by Alison Sampson
I thought this cover was neat, but after reading the solicit I really love it. There's something magical about a cover that captures the concept or story of a book while also being beautiful.
The X-Files Annual 2014
by Sam Shearon
More than some of the other covers for this series, this one really captures the tone of the TV series. Plus who doesn't need more Duchovny in their lives?
Did I miss some good ones? Were you literally Hulking out because there's a great variant missing? Let me know if I missed your favorite cover this week on Twitter or Facebook!
