Could Agent Carter be Marvel's Next Television Series?

Agents of SHIELD hasn't even premiered yet and Marvel Studios may already be on the verge of developing another series with a similar theme, according to Deadline:
After one such short, Item 47 on The Avengers DVD about the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., led to the new ABC/Marvel series, another one may also spawn a series project for ABC. Marvel is notoriously secretive about their development, and no one would comment, but I hear the company is working on a concept for a potential TV series inspired by Agent Carter, a one shot, which will be featured on the upcoming Blue ray release of Iron Man 3.
It is unclear if (Hayley) Atwell would reprise her role if Agent Carter comes to fruition. A Marvel action series with a female lead would fit right into ABC’s wheelhouse of female-skewing dramas with a strong lead and would be a throwback to such network series Alias.
Interesting. I'm a big fan of Hayley Atwell, but it also seems increasingly unlikely that Atwell would discard a budding film career to go star in a network televison series. Much more likely, on the other hand, is that Emily VanCamp, who is playing an "Agent Carter" in the upcoming Captain America: The Winter Solider, would star in such a series. VanCamp is currently active on television, starring on ABC's Revenge, and it seems like a much more obvious move for her, though far less appealing for those who might want a more stylized/interesting World War II/Cold War option.
