American Psycho headed to FX as a weekly series

So, there was once a film, based on a novel by Bret Easton Ellis, starring Christian Bale...that is probably one of my favorite films of all time. That film, American Psycho, still holds up incredibly well and is one of those films I usually stop whatever it is I'm doing to watch till its conclusion.

It had a "sequel". The less said about that, the better.

Now apparently, it will get a Television Series on FX, based around the concept of a modern day, 50 year old Patrick Bateman "as outrageous and lethal as ever", taking on a protege in a sadistic social experiment "creating a next generation American Psycho".

The pilot will be written by Stefan Jaworski, Christian Bale is certain to NOT return.

I'm rather certain this series will be more "Dexter" and less "statement on consumerism and 80's excess", the latter of which being the actual appeal of American Psycho, other than a tremendous Bale performance.
