You're killing me, Smalls. Seriously. Green Lantern I love you. I have stuck by you when all the bad things were happening in your pages. Sure, I wavered when Hal Jordan died and it may have made me go off the rails a bit, but I was still there.
But I don't know anymore.
Simon Baz. I'm sure you're a great guy, but ever since Showcase #22, it's been about Hal. When he died and Crabface Kyle Rayner took over, it took me awhile to grow into him, but that's just it, I had time. They are shoving all sorts of back story into us with him outrageously fast it's almost hard to comprehend. I just don't care about him, or his need to continue to carry a gun. (No, this is not an anti gun thing, and yes I know its foreshadowing that it may come into play later, Im no ninny.)
The other thing that bothers me is that I pick up Green Lantern. I don't pick up New Guardians, Green Lantern Corps or whatever else book they decide to throw the GL logo on. I am a main title kinda guy, but yet they proceed to do yet ANOTHER cross-over involving Green Lantern. Looks like someone didn't learn their lesson after the backlash of Blackest Night (I refuse to address Brightest Day as anything other than...backlash. Luckily I didn't call it backwash.)
You are alienating fans, especially in this tepid economy who can only afford to pick up one book, or have a very specific list of books that they pick up and have been picking up.
You get a D, Green Lantern. I'm getting ashamed to pick you up every month.
